ESAD 2013-14 Catalogue Retiring proucts blog-hop

As the new 2014-15 Catalogue release approaches, its time to farewell some favourites from the 2013-14 Catalogue, and what better way than another ESAD Blog Hop?  You may have arrived here from Narelle's blog, or you might be starting here - either way, welcome!

I have made two projects to share with you today, because I couldn't decide what I'll miss the most, I hope you enjoy them.

First up is the Pop 'n Cuts cardbase, Dress Form Insert and Dress Up Framelits from the Karen Burniston range.  For my colours I have used Primrose Petals from the outgoing 2012-14 In Colours, and paired it with Basic Black and Very Vanilla (both staying current) to go with the Modern Medley DSP (retiring), and with a touch of silver glimmer paper (note: while this is retiring, it has been reformulated for the new catalogue).  The cardbase is Primrose Petals Core'dinations, and sadly the whole Core'dinations range is retiring :(

Other retiring products you can see are the Primrose Petals stitched satin ribbon, the jumbo pearl and the greeting from the Loving Thoughts stampset.  I have cut the banner by hand and added some pearls and used my bone folder to curl it to add some texture.

Inside the card is the pop-up dress, also from Modern Medley DSP, and a wee cardy in more silver glimmer paper.  I used the two different dresses from the Framelits collection to create the different necklines.  The Dare To Dream banner also comes from Loving Thoughts, and the wee flowers are from the Bitty Punch pack which is also retiring:

Finally I made a matching envelope, using the Envelope Framelit dies (reformatted for the new catalogue) and the Modern Medley DSP again.  The flourish that is on both the envelope and the writing panel of the card, is from Happy Day, which is another retiring stamped.

My next project is a set of co-ordinating notecards in a box.  The colours in this set are the 2013-15 In Colours which will happily carry over for another year, but the Core'dinations cardstock is retiring, and so is the gorgeous ruffled ribbon that I have used on the bottom of the box.

The greeting "thank you so so much" comes from Delightful Dozen, another retiring stampset.  There is no sentiment on the front of these card, or in the insides, as this set will be given as a gift and I want to keep them generic so the recipient can choose their own occasion.

The cardfronts are sanded Core'dinations cardstock, which it took a lot of willpower to overcome the temptation to emboss it.  I used one of the scallops from the (retiring) Pennants Bigz die, and mounted a stamped image from the Shop Around jumbo wheel - the whole selection of wheels and handles is retiring - which is punched out with the 2.5" Circle Punch (staying current).  The DSP on the envelope liners and the flags on the cardfronts is from the In-Colour Paper Stack which is not retiring either.

The box was made with the Envelope Punch Board (which will be a permanent feature in the upcoming Catalogue) and I used Whisper White Core'dinations, which is a bit sturdier that our usual Whisper White cardstock, so is perfectly suited to a box.  I measured the height, width and depth of the stack of gift-cards and envelopes and custom-made my box to perfectly hold them all.

I hope you have enjoyed my projects today - your next stop is Kelli's blog.
